St. Patrick's Day
For St. Patrick's Day this year the second graders at Logan's school had the option of making a leprechaun trap. Logan really wanted to participate in this, so it was off to the craft store to get supplies. I helped him Monday night build his very own leprechaun trap. We had so much fun doing this together. He was so excited to take it to school in hopes to catch a leprechaun. When we woke up on St. Patrick's Day the kids couldn't believe that the waffles had been turned green. They thought it was so much fun. Both boys had school and came home with all their tales of what the leprechauns had done at their schools. Logan however didn't catch a leprechaun, but it did step on his trap!!! The leprechauns made a complete mess of both boys classrooms at school. Riley came home with his artwork of a rainbow they made at school and was so proud of it. It was a really fun filled day. We ended it all with a homemade shamrock sugar cookie!!!

Diabetes Expo
This last Sat. we had the Diabetes Expo of Utah. This is an event I look forward to every year. It is so great to go and get info on the new technology that has come out and that is up and coming. I also love to get to see familiar faces of families we have helped through the American Diabetes Association and meet new families that have been recently diagnosed. The expo brings together so many different kinds of people all fighting for a similar cause. This year there was a whole new feel and meaning to the expo with the recent loss of Larry H. Miller. It deeply saddens me and so many others that he lost his fight to Diabetes. He was such a remarkable man with all the amazing things he did in his life. I only wish he would have taken better care of his diabetes. When you have diabetes, type 1 or type 2, it is something you can't take for granted. It doesn't just affect the person who has diabetes, it affects all that are around them.
This year Logan and I participated in a panel called "Living with Diabetes". There were 8 of us that sat on this panel, four mothers and thier children. We talked about what our lifes are like as mothers and what we go through. Our children also spoke about what life is like for them to grow up with Diabetes. It is so amazing to hear the different stories from the 4 different ages. We all had mulitple things in common. There are a few that stand out most to me one: that we are all fighting for a common cause on a daily basis, two: we all try each day to live our lifes as normal as possible and three: none of us chose this for our kids or our families, but we accept it full on and fight to get through it together. I truely believe that one day we will succeed in finding a cure and look forward to that. In the mean time we take one day at a time and live life to it's fullest. I am so proud of all the kids out there that battle diabetes on a daily basis. The are the most bravest people I know and I am amazed at how well they handle the cards they have been dealt.

Dirty Puppy
Since it has been such good weather outside we decided to let Tigger play outside in the backyard with the boys while we worked out. What a mistake!!! The grass and stuff was still a little bit wet last week and so when it was time to come in Tigger was a mess. I guess the bottom line is at least he had a good time. I had to give him a bath the second he came in the house. It was the dirtiest water I have ever seen, I really didn't know if his fur was going to come all the way clean. Thank heavens it all washed out very well.

New Bedroom !!!
After almost 10 years of marriage and almost 29 years of being alive, I got my very first "NEW" Bedroom set. All my life I have had hand-me-down beds since I was the baby of my family. When Brandon and I got married we got his parents old bedroom set. It was great to have a bedroom set given to us since we were just starting out and were so young. The last couple of years I have really started to want a new bedroom set and so has Brandon. So this year it all fell into place and we purchased our first bedroom set. I absolutely love it!!! I give Brandon all the credit for picking it out. I was totally set on a four poster bed, kind of country style bedroom set. When the place didn't have they one I liked anymore I reconsidered the one Brandon liked. I am so glad I went with the one he picked out. It is amazing what a different feel our room has to it now. All that is left is the decorating part, which can wait for awhile. The bedroom set is plenty good for me and I can slowly start to decorate as time goes on. I love my hubby so much for having such great taste in furniture and for buying our new bedroom set.

Camera!!!
Well I haven't updated my blog for awhile because my camera was either lost or stolen. I had hopes that it would turn up, but so far no luck. I am so sad one because it was my favorite camera, and two because of all the pics that were on it that I lost. I really wish that some miracle would happen and that it would suddenly turn up somewhere. I have had to resort back to my old camera which is still a good camera, but just not the one I love with all my pics on it. I had thought about doing a post telling about the pics that were on my camera, but have decided it just isn't the same. I am just going to pick up from where that camera left off.

Playgroup
Last Wed. it was my turn to have playgroup at my house. There were 8 little kids, 2 boys and 6 girls. They were playing for awhile when they became completely enthralled with our new puppy. They all crowded around Tigger while he was laying on the stairs and started first just by petting him. Pretty soon I looked over and they were hand feeding him his dog food. They got so excited that he was eating it, that they all started to try and feed him at once. Before long there was a huge pile of dog food on the stairs in front of the dog. It was so funny to sit and watch all this little kids with the puppy. After awhile they all went off to play again and Tigger was left on the stairs to eat his food by himself. I think they all enjoyed it, even Tigger ate up all the attention he was getting.

Neil Diamond Baby!!!
I almost forgot to put this post on so it is a little out of order, but I had to put it on.On December 19th we went to see Neil Diamond in concert at the Energy Solutions Arena. I absolutely LOVE Neil Diamond, I grew up listening to him and he is still one of my all time favorites. His concert was fantastic !!! He is still great after all these years. I think he sang all of my very favorite songs too.I had the best time ever, Brandon bought me a program and his new cd. He preformed for 2 hours straight with no opening act and no intermission. He came out and did an oncore and sang 4 more songs. I can't believe his fan base he has either. The ranged from senior citizens to babies it was crazy. The only bump in the whole night was we rode trax to the concert and boy was that an experience I will never forget!! Thank heavens my Dad also went to the concert and was able to take us to my father-in-laws car after the concert.

New Years !!!
Happy New Years!! We spent New Years at home as a family, just the four of us. It was a nice relaxing night. We did our traditional New Years Eve dinner and had fondue. It was great, the kids really had a blast. We all made it to midnight and to ring it in at 12:00am we toasted with sparkling apple juice. Then the kids went outside to bang pots and pans and yelled Happy New Year about a 100 times. Brandon found some leftover sparklers for the boys, which they loved. We had a great night and are looking forward to a New Year filled with love, family, friends, health, and fun times.

Joys Of A Puppy
Well having a puppy is like having a new baby or child. First on Christmas Eve as I was rushing to get everything ready before my house became full of 18 bodies, I caught the dog in the door going out to our garage. I had asked the boys to hold him and had assumed they were doing like they were asked and went to close the door. I didn't even look down to make sure all was clear and all of a sudden there was a yelp. I felt horrible he just kept crying and wouldn't walk. I thought for sure his leg was broke. We rushed him to the vet, not the one we had planned on going to, and of course we just missed normal hours. They had just switched to emergency hours so boy was that a fun visit, luckily his leg was just bruised.
So as if that wasn't enough drama the day after Christmas Tigger started acting funny. He kept running around shaking his head and burying himself in blankets. After a few hours of this we decided to make yet another trip to the vet (a different one again). They informed me that Tigger had double ear infection!!! I swear I feel like I have another child all over again. However even with all the chaos we all still love the new puppy. He is even sleeping through the night now and is doing really good with the whole potty thing.

Christmas 2008 !!!
Well Christmas has come and gone once again. As usually it was an eventful time for all. We spent Christmas Eve at our house this year with my Mom, Grandparents, and siblings and their families. It was a lot of fun, food, and family. The kids were wired and excited for Santa to come. We played a left right game with presents and a great story that my friend Tressa wrote. The kids were so funny to watch as they tried to figure out which was their right and lefts. However even some of the adults struggled when it came time for us to do it. We had great snacks, dinner, and dessert and lots of laughs. When it came time for presents the kids were thrilled, however we went in order from oldest to youngest so of course our family was last. My kids hated being last, but loved when they finally got to open their gifts. My middle sister Tammy even announced her exciting news that she is expecting her 5th child in June. All in all Christmas Eve was a great night.
When we awoke on Christmas morning to a cold house with no power it was a bit of a shock. I have to say it was a different Christmas morning sitting by a tree with no lights on, it kind of made me sad. The kids came right down and jumped right in to opening presents. They are so fun to watch how excited they get at it all, even the new puppy had fun playing in the aftermath of paper. When we were all done opening presents we packed up the family and went to the in-laws so we could have our traditional breakfast I make (since we had no power at our house). It turned out to be a great morning. We spent most of the morning and late afternoon at the in-laws and then it was off to my Dads and Step-Moms. Three Christmas is very tiring to say the least. My Step-Mom cooked an amazing dinner like she does every year. After dinner was over it was time again to open more presents. The grand-kids were first to open and once they started to was over quick. Our boys got a basketball hoop that is the kind you fill the stand with sand and can move around. I am glad to say the new toys were a minimum this year. When it was finally time to pack things up it was a blizzard outside for the second time. It was a long cold drive home that night and I was so glad to come home to a house with power. Christmas always seems to be the longest day of the year. I am so glad it is over!!!
